Shaping a Greener Future for Tourism in Laos

National University of Laos (NUOL) recently hosted a promotional seminar on Zero-Waste Tourism, bringing together over 90 participants, including students, faculty, alumni, entrepreneurs, and government officials.

As tourism grows, so does our responsibility to protect our environment. This event focused on the introduction on the newly developed courses on zero-waste tourism and the vital skills needed to eliminate waste and promote sustainability across the travel and hospitality sectors.

The courses promoted included:

✅ Responsible consumers and global warming impact of wastes: Understanding the link between waste and global warming.

✅ Zero-waste in tourism activities: Real-world ways to reduce waste in tourism.

✅ Waste management under municipal context: Improving waste control in our municipalities.

✅ Environmental impact assessment: Learning how to evaluate our ecological footprint.

This was not just a seminar; it was a networking hub for the next generation of eco-conscious leaders. Together, we are working toward a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable tourism industry for Lao PDR and beyond!
