Reflecting on Tourism-Zero Progress of WP2 & Planning for the WP3
On June 16, 2025, the National University of Laos (NUOL) team for the Tourism-Zero Project held a internal meeting to reflect on our achievements of WP2 and strategize for upcoming tasks.
The meeting was led by Vice President – Professor Dr. Phouphet Kyophilavong, who supervises the project’s implementation at NUOL. Project team members were all in attendance via face-to-face and online, contributing to a collaborative discussion.
We’re proud to report on the successful completion of several key deliverables:
• Dissemination strategic plans
• Social media channels
• Website development
• Newsletters
• National report on the needs of knowledge and skills for zero-waste management in tourism and hospitality in Lao PDR 🇱🇦
Moving forward, our focus shifts to Work Package 3 (WP3): Development of Zero-Waste Tourism Courses and Training for Academics. We are excited to begin designing the curriculum that will equip future tourism and hospitality professionals with essential zero-waste management skills.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our work towards a more sustainable tourism sector in Lao PDR!
