Tourism Zero: Exchange of Ideas for Sustainable Tourism Curriculum

On 15 September 2025, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket, in collaboration with the Thai Hotels Association Southern Chapter, organized the curriculum workshop of “Tourism Zero” at Fuangfa Conference Room. The workshop served as a platform to exchange ideas among educators and industry representatives for developing a new curriculum on Zero-Waste Management in hospitality and sustainable tourism.

The discussion focused on creating a curriculum that meets both labor market needs and environmental concerns, covering key topics such as the 6R concept, global best practices, hotel waste reduction strategies, and real-world case studies. This initiative aims to equip students and industry professionals with the skills required to embrace sustainability and manage waste effectively.

The event marked another important step in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry to drive sustainable tourism in Thailand.
